The IAA wishes to extend to all Airsoft enthusiasts, retailers and sites in Ireland a very Merry Christmas and New Year. 2009 will be a very exciting time in Airsoft, and the IAA appreciates your support. Conor, Dave, Stephen and Keith Quoting from the Minister for Justice’s response to a question from Deputy Bernard Durkan in parliamentary questions recently: “While a de facto ban on new handgun licences is already in place, my proposals will be given legislative form in the Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, which I will publish early in the New Year. IAA Proposal on Legislative Changes Dec 2008 A discussion thread has also been created in our forum: http://www.irishairsoft.ie/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=199 Just a quick reminder that the AGM will be held at 12:00pm Sunday 14th of December in the Central Hotel, Exchequer Street, Dublin 1. Attendance is open to all members who have submitted the correct membership forms and have paid their membership fee by midnight of the 11th of December 2008. The IAA Committee would like to extend its thanks to Fine Gael spokesperson Deputy Charles Flanagan (Justice, Equality and Law Reform) for meeting with our delegation on the 3rd December 2008. In attendance were Ronan Lowe, Sean O’Callaghan, Stephen Fay, Conor Scolard and Tony Geraghty of Eirsoft.ie who kindly stepped in at the last [...] The committee will be meeting with Charles Flanagan of Fine Gael on Wednesday with a view to informing him of the current issues facing airsoft and the communities proposed solutions to them.
